THE STORY OF A SINGLE DAD

This is the story of a single Dad

A singularly creative mind sans precedent

Popularly rumoured to possess a fiery temper;

While others spoke of the very loving father.

Reputed to be the one-of-his-kind mind

An entrepreneur who’d launched

An innovative start-up with a big bang

Working a six-day week.

Solely shouldering all responsibilities.

Given, his busy schedule

His only son was placed

In the care of a young au pair

Who came highly recommended

But with no prior experience.

His social obligations that come with the territory -

And sense of conscience

Occasioned Dad to endanger his son

Consciously situating him in harm's way.

He was not averse to calculated risk

As absolution for the collateral damage -

Of creative consequences going ‘critical’

If any ordinary Dad had done that...

Social services would have crucified Dad

For being an unfit father

Relieving him of paternal responsibilities -

The interests of his son being paramount.

However,

The story takes a very different twist

When Dad is an omnipotent called, God

With his only son, named Jesus

Then, this act of negligence'

Is universally celebrated 

As his act of selfless love.

How very curious.
